Dilution Delusion?

So oft have I invoked thee for my drink

And found such faire assistance in my thirst,

To cut the long story short.. There are swindlers out in the open! Some of them made me believe I had a good capacity, till I realized the frikkin finks were not giving me enough! Goddammit!

..I'll calm down a bit n refine that.

It all roots at my love for concoctions. Couple of years back, I had my very first- The Purple Mask. And there was no looking back thereafter-there was the Bleeding Mary and then there was Sex on the Beach, then there were many more. Thereafter, somewhere along the journey came Long Island Ice Tea, LIIT as i call it pyar se (I remember having it at Leos the very first time). Aah..heaven. I believe it's a perfect blend of everything. I did not pause to realize that it was absolute for me, till of course the last dew in my Collins.

Now about the swindling part, the dilution delusion: Some bartending buggers are out there ruining the reputation of LIIT. The thing is, LIIT lovers know it's a great drink. A perfect blend of its contents tastes beautiful, giving you the perfect teenzy-weenzy buzz that makes you feel grateful. What some of these buggers are doing is not giving us exactly that. Forget the buzz, that comes later, the drink tastes weird! Either they’re not making it strong enough, or probably adding wrong ingredients? I really wonder how can someone go wrong with a classic recipe! Now what happens is that a bad LIIT could make the newbies feel let down. They may not have one again, thanks to their (bartender/guzzler) ignorance. Don't let them make a donkey out of you with a fake LIIT. Save LIIT! Ask people you know for where to get those best specials/favorites and not just when it comes to LIIT.

This cheating cheating CHEATING makes me really pissed off and I'm tired of cussing Mr. Bartender. I protest!..For the love of Long Island Ice Tea! Give us some good Long Island Ice Tea! I'm going to start an awareness campaign, lemme know if you want to volunteer. We could have cool tees for it! Yay!

Since my taste buds have voted, I think I'm gonna be stuck on LIIT for quite sometime. I've zeroed on 5 places (that I can remember..hicc!) which serve the perfect one:

1. Cocktails n More, behind Taj, Colaba

2. Leopold Cafe

3. Some pub (don't remember the name) in Götebörg

4. Gokul, you can make your own here..howzzat?

5. Hard Rock Cafe

WARNING: never ever ask for LIIT at Pop Tate’s, Andheri

Long Island Ice Tea @ home
1 part vodka
1 part tequila
1 part rum
1 part gin
1 part triple sec
1 1/2 parts sweet and sour mix
1 splash of Cola

Mix ingredients together over ice in a glass. Pour into a shaker and give one brisk shake. Pour back into the glass and make sure there is a touch of fizz at the top. Garnish with lemon.
