I want to shoot everyone...
Yes, I want to shoot everyone, and I'll probably shoot you the first chance I get.
With my camera, of course!
I've been in a serious relationship with my L1 for more than two years now. And what a wonderful partnership it's been! We've traveled to so many places; smiled, cried, and even bathed together!
The L1 is my first and current camera. It's a 4.1 MP tiny-tot that takes wonderful pictures. I don't see myself parting with it ever. It's a bond so strong, I can't let it retire just yet! Although, what I do plan to do is get it a bulkier, but advanced companion.
After using the L1 rigorously, and learning more about cameras and optics in the mean time, I feel the urge to be able to capture even more wonderful pictures. That brings me to a point when I know that I need a high-end, or a prosumer camera to put my "click-disorder" to better use.
It can be tricky for some when it comes to deciding on one's first (D)SLR camera. And yessir, I'm a part of the brigade.
There's no limit for clicking photgraphs that are very close to what your eye percieves is perfection; hence, a lot of wealth can be frittered away in order to acquire an SLR that helps one get there. Well, for mortals like me, it is important to acquire "wealth" first, and then the camera of my dreams. Therefore, if you're an amateur like me, a lot of research and actual handling of the camera that you wish to own helps in decision making; it is an investment after all. Therefore, it's important to start with getting to know the basics, and then fix a budget.
In my case, I still need to learn more about how the high-end camera works. Once I'm sure I know enough, I believe I'll just know what exactly will suffice my needs. Perhaps I'll have the wealth by then too!
Nevertheless, I have my eyes set on the Nikon D80 at the moment. It's yummy!! The specs are great, and it has excellent reviews.
But I need to hear the words from a professional, in person.
Probably next week? (When I meet Mr. photo-editor of a premium photography magazine!) ;-)
